Terms of Service

Last updated July 31, 2026

These terms govern your use of dichotomyco.com and any commission, order, or purchase made through it. By using this site, you agree to them.

Custom and commissioned pieces

Every hat is one-of-a-kind and made by hand. Reference photos, colors, and descriptions on this site are a starting point for design conversation, not an exact guarantee — natural variation in dye, materials, and handwork is part of what makes each crown unique. We'll confirm final design details with you directly before production begins.

Requests and quotes

Submitting a commission or order request is not a purchase — it's a request for us to follow up with pricing, timing, and design details. No payment is taken at the time you submit the form. A sale is only final once you complete checkout through our payment processor, Square.

Payment and checkout

Payment is processed securely through Square. We do not see or store your full payment card details — that's handled entirely by Square's own secure systems.

Availability

Because each hat is one-of-a-kind, availability can change quickly. If a piece you're interested in sells before your order is confirmed, we'll let you know and offer alternatives where possible.

Cancellations and changes

Once a custom commission has entered production, changes or cancellations may not be possible depending on how far the work has progressed. If you need to change or cancel a request, contact us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Shipping and returns

Because these are handmade, one-of-a-kind items, we handle shipping and returns on a case-by-case basis — reach out to us directly with any concerns about your order and we'll work with you.

Content you submit

If you upload a reference photo or voice message, you confirm you have the right to share it with us, and you grant us permission to view and use it solely for designing and producing your commission.

Limitation of liability

Dichotomy Co. provides this site and its products "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or your purchase.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
